International Contactango Summer Camp

10 days of dance, community, nature, singing, delicious food, silence, and the simple joy of being human.

Our home and dance space sits on a hillside at the end of a 5 km dirt road—a quiet and secluded place where nature can be fully enjoyed.

Just 20 meters from the 17 × 10 meter open-air dance floor, a small lake invites you to swim. The dance floor is shaded by trees and touched by the gentle summer breeze.

Stay in one of the two houses, camp in your tent, bring your van or camper, or sleep on a platform nestled among the oak trees.

Located near Anghiari, a charming and historic town in the heart of Tuscany. Refreshing rivers and lakes are also close by.
Children are warmly welcome at the camp. 🙂

You probably already have some dance experience—whether in Contact Improvisation, Argentine Tango, or other forms of dance.

Program:

This is a progressive, immersive course. You may book either the BasicWeek or the entire camp.

Basic Week: August 3–9, 2026
Full Camp – Dancing Deeper: August 3–13, 2026

Mornings

• 3.5 hours of intensive Feldenkrais training, gradually transitioning into Contactango

Afternoons

• Argentine Tango / Contact technique
• Early evening Milonga before dinner
• Quiet time and relaxation

Evenings

• Contactango Milonga with different themes
• Live music

The second part of the camp, from August 9–13, 2026, offers space to dive more deeply into encounter and connection – with yourself, with one another, and with the living environment around us.

We will explore dance techniques in greater depth and respond to the wishes and interests of the participants. Dancing in nature and with the elements will be an important part of this experience.

• 10 days and 10 nights of Contactango Intensive + Feldenkrais
• Maximum 30 dancers

Prices

We offer an Early Bird rate for registrations received by April 1, 2026, with accommodation in your own tent or camper:

After the early bird rate please add 40 Euros per person if you book until Juni 1 and 60 euros if you book after Juni first.

Full Camp (August 3–13, 2026): €720

Foundation Week Only (August 3–9, 2026): €480

The final day concludes after breakfast and the closing Feldenkrais session.

Accommodation in the House

Additional charges:

• Single room: + €60
• Double room: + €30 per person

We have calculated our prices as affordably as possible. We are grateful to those of you who are in a position to contribute a little extra to support this beautiful place, our dedicated helpers, teachers, and everyone involved in making the camp possible. Thank you very much!

Helper Positions

We also offer two reduced-price helper positions. Please contact us if you are interested.

Even with helpers on site, the Summer Camp thrives on everyone’s participation in daily tasks: assisting the cook, preparing breakfast, caring for the dance floor, loading the dishwasher, and contributing in many small ways that bring you joy (such as picking blackberries 🙂).

We are very much looking forward to sharing dance, closeness, exchange, laughter, authenticity, and the simple experience of being dancing, being human.

Practical Information

For ride-sharing arrangements, we will create a Google document accessible to all participants. Everyone will be able to offer or request rides there.

A few days before the camp begins, I will also host a Zoom meeting for all participants—an opportunity to meet each other and ask any remaining questions. The date will be announced by email after registration.

The Venue

Monterosi – The Hill of Roses

A spacious and completely private property on a hill with far-reaching views, the last house at the end of a five-kilometre gravel road.

Rainer, who lives there and is a passionate dancer, our friend and Maître du Paradis, built two houses on the land with his own hands.

The venue offers:

• A magnificent 170 m² outdoor dance floor in nature
• An indoor dance space
• Numerous outdoor solar showers

You can sleep:

• In the house (shared rooms or dormitory-style accommodation)
• Under the open sky
• In your tent or camper

If you camp, the entire property is available to you.

It is wonderfully quiet there – just nature and us.

The nearest town is Anghiari, a very friendly medieval village about 8 km away. Public buses run several times a day between Arezzo and Anghiari.

Arezzo, a city dating back to Etruscan times and home to what may be the world’s best ice cream shop (among many other cultural treasures 😉), lies about 30 km to the west.

Florence is approximately 100 km to the northwest.

Cancellation Policy

In general, I try to handle cancellations as generously as possible. Nevertheless, despite professional support, organizing the camp requires a great deal of work.

Therefore, I kindly ask for your understanding:

• For cancellations made less than two months before the course begins, a cancellation fee of 20% of the participation cost will be charged.
• For cancellations made within one week of the start date, 50% of the participation fee will be charged.
